Support program for scientists from Ukraine PAS-NAS

The Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) and the National Academy of Sciences of the United States (NAS) introduce another, new call for applications for co-financing the stay in Poland of scientists from Ukraine who are forced to flee from hostilities carried out in their country.

The funding applies to scientists from Ukraine with at least a doctoral degree (PhD), who on February 24, 2022 were employed at the Ukrainian university or at the Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and crossed the border to escape the war not earlier than on that day.

The length of stay of scientists in the units of the Polish Academy of Sciences is 3 month with the possibility of extending it to a maximum of 6 month.
General conditions for the awarding and settlement of funds for funding research stays of scientists from Ukraine

The monthly amount of the grant is intended, among others, for food and accommodation for a scientist from Ukraine:

  • USD 1700 for the first month of stay,
  • USD 1200 for the second month of stay,
  • USD 1200 for the third month of stay,
  • in the event of a possible extension of the stay USD 1200 for each subsequent month.

The call for applications is conducted by the International Relations Office of the Polish Academy of Sciences on a continuous basis until the funds are exhausted (please send applications to the DON at don@ifj.edu.pl).
