passed away on 27 May 2011
Professor Budzanowski was a renowned physicist, one of originators of the Polish school of nuclear physics, mentor and educator of generations of Polish scientists, for many years general director of the Henryk Niewodniczański Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences, full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, winner of many national and scientific awards and decorations, passionate mountaineer of the Tatras, a man of great mind and heart.
